This privacy policy covers what Asia Undiscovered collects when you visit the site, what happens to that data, and the choices you have about it.

What the site collects

Asia Undiscovered uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics service self-hosted on a server I control. Plausible records page views, referrer domains, country-level location, device type, and browser — in aggregate only. It does not set cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not build a cross-site profile. The raw data does not leave my server.

Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp) are kept for operational purposes — spam-blocking, debugging, abuse response — and rotated automatically. They are not shared with third parties.

Cookies

The site itself sets no tracking cookies. WordPress uses a small number of functional cookies if you log in to leave a comment (currently disabled) or manage the site. Embedded content such as YouTube videos or maps may set cookies from those third-party providers under their own policies.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links, typically to hotel booking platforms or tour operators. If you click one and go on to book something, the site may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Third-party services

The site is fronted by Cloudflare for DNS and basic DDoS protection. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP, country, user agent) as part of that service under its own privacy policy. Images sourced from Wikimedia Commons, Pexels, and Pixabay link back to those sources where attribution is required.

Your rights

If you’re in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with a comparable privacy framework, you have the right to request a copy of any data held about you, to ask for correction or deletion, and to object to processing. Since this site does not maintain user accounts and Plausible stores no personal identifiers, in practice there is very little about you to request. Changes

If this policy is updated in a meaningful way, the effective date at the top will change. For material changes that affect what’s collected, a note will appear on the homepage for a reasonable period.
